Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Serve as Primefold RI’s inaugural Forward Deployed Engineer, acting as the technical liaison between product offerings and customer challenges.

• Collaborate with asset management and IT teams to identify pertinent customer issues and use cases, transforming them from concept to production.

• Create and develop workflows, imports, and tools tailored to specific customer needs.

• Construct and configure integrations and connectors for platforms such as SharePoint, Google Drive, Gmail, Outlook, and on-premises storage solutions.

• Ensure secure authentication processes, reliable data flows, and effective error handling mechanisms.

• Implement and manage solutions in production environments, encompassing workspace configuration, access permissions, and data onboarding.

• When necessary, compare extraction results with original documents to ensure accuracy.

• Convert recurring tasks into tools, checklists, and playbooks for efficiency.

• Develop and enhance AI-driven workflows customized to each customer's specific context.

• Assess the quality and precision of AI workflows, including determining when human intervention is necessary.

• Investigate and resolve pipeline failures, data quality concerns, and integration outages in collaboration with various teams.

• Directly contribute to the product through enhancements, bug fixes, and the development of reusable tools.

• Communicate customer feedback to the Product and Engineering teams.

• Assist the Solutions Engineer on late-stage projects by providing technical insights on integrations, security, and feasibility.

• Address technical inquiries related to GDPR, data-processing agreements, security questionnaires, and data residency configurations.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Customer Experience, and Solutions Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of software development experience with robust full-stack capabilities, including TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Prior experience in a customer-facing technical position, such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Implementation or Integration Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or technical consultant.

• Practical experience in building integrations with enterprise systems and APIs (OAuth2, REST), covering authentication, data mapping, and troubleshooting.

• Proven track record of taking at least one customer solution or implementation from concept to production.

• Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the capacity to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously while maintaining clarity on scope, priorities, and next steps.

• Located in Germany (preferably Berlin).

• Willingness to travel to customer locations occasionally.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI and LLM-based products, document extraction, RAG, or agent workflows.

• Preferred: Background in document processing (OCR, classification, extraction), Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and access-control principles.

• Preferred: Experience with enterprise SaaS clients and security and compliance standards.

• Preferred: Experience in establishing repeatable processes within a startup environment.

• Relevant experience with AI coding tools is beneficial.

• Knowledge of real estate or PropTech workflows is advantageous, though not required.
