Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with clients to grasp their workflows, limitations, and objectives, while identifying the problems independently.

• Develop production systems utilizing Luma's APIs, models, and internal tools.

• Create, deploy, iterate, and sustain systems that customers rely on in real-world environments with actual data.

• Manage projects from inception to deployment, ensuring comprehensive ownership.

• Address platform deficiencies by building around them and provide feedback on recurring trends to both platform and R&D teams for productization.

• Leverage AI to expedite implementation, while maintaining engineering judgment as the core focus: determining what to build and ensuring reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering software end to end.

• Strong expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language (such as Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar).

• Capability to work across the technology stack and quickly adapt to unfamiliar systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant practical experience.

• Willingness to travel to client locations as required.

• Proven history of delivering real systems to actual users, beyond merely completing assigned tasks.

• High agency and excellent prioritization skills: you identify the core issue and take action.

• Comfort in charting your own course when a clear path is not defined.

• Demonstrated experience working directly with clients and translating their feedback into functional solutions.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
