Forward Deployed Engineer

📋 Description

• Take ownership of customer solutions from inception to execution by quickly prototyping, refining, and deploying solutions in active operational settings.

• Establish trustworthy relationships with individuals at all levels, from team members to executive sponsors, and represent the company’s technical expertise.

• Handle multiple customer projects simultaneously, aligning with customer priorities and the capacity of the team.

• Function within a small, diverse, and self-managed POD team.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate field insights into robust platform capabilities.

• Provide mentorship to customer operators and assist teams in navigating solution transitions and adoption.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain Agentic AI solutions utilizing the Kinaxis Maestro Platform.

• Assess success through measurable business outcomes such as increased efficiency, reduced exceptions, and improved SLA metrics.

• Incorporate field insights back into the platform and distill successful strategies into scalable capabilities.

• Communicate effectively across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in creating applications based on LLMs, RAG systems, multi-agent workflows, tool-use patterns, and prompt/context engineering.

• Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools, including Copilot, Claude Code, and agentic IDE workflows.

• Comprehension of agentic orchestration patterns, encompassing single versus multi-agent architectures, memory, and state management.

• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering with experience in building and deploying real-world systems.

• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, with a strong preference for Python.

• Capability to read and contribute to a polyglot codebase.

• Experience with REST and streaming APIs, authentication methods, and integrating enterprise systems.

• Skills in constructing and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, serving, and monitoring using tools like Airflow, Kafka, dbt, or similar.

• Familiarity with contemporary data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or comparable systems, including data modeling and performance principles.

• Strong debugging skills with challenging, real-world production data.

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions engineering, or a technical founder role.

• Customer-facing technical experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Willingness to travel as needed, up to 50%.

• Experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or operations is a plus but not required.
