Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage with enterprise retail clients and partners to gain insights into their technical setups, data systems, and business processes.

• Create, develop, and implement AI and agentic solutions customized to meet each customer's unique infrastructure and requirements.

• Enhance, modify, and integrate Instacart's primary AI functionalities to align with customer ecosystems.

• Foster a strong collaborative relationship with the R&D team.

• Work closely with the AI Solutions Architect to convert domain requirements and architectural designs into functional software.

• Act as the main technical liaison for clients throughout the implementation process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of writing and delivering production-quality code.

• Practical experience in utilizing LLM APIs, function calling, tool usage, agent frameworks, or RAG pipelines.

• Expertise in Python or another commonly used scripting/backend language in data-heavy environments.

• Established capability to integrate with complex enterprise data environments.

• Hands-on experience with external enterprise clients or technical stakeholders in a consultancy or customer-facing role.

• Solid understanding of retail and e-commerce system fundamentals.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.
