Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deploy and integrate C2 software on-site with military personnel both domestically and internationally.

• Conduct break-fix troubleshooting and rapid code development in the field.

• Collect requirements from uniformed operators and deliver solutions on the same day.

• Collaborate with drone operators, potentially piloting assets in air, water, or land during active missions.

• Relay field insights back to core engineering teams.

• Function autonomously in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments involving hardware, software, and technical tasks.

• Work closely with U.S. military and government clients.

• Take ownership of the technical success of Swarm Aero's C2 systems in live operational settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in full-stack software engineering and/or forward-deployed engineering.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

• Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.

• Proficiency in Golang, React, Python, C/C++, Java, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

• Capability to deploy and integrate C2 software on-site with military operators.

• Skill in troubleshooting distributed systems and quickly developing code in field conditions.

• Ability to gather requirements from uniformed operators and deliver on the same day.

• Competence in collaborating with drone operators and potentially piloting assets during live operations.

• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments.
