Forestry Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Increase the area of FSC-certified forests throughout Romania

• Shape policy, market trends, and stakeholder engagement

• Serve as a primary representative of FSC within the national forestry sector

• Convert strategies into tangible outcomes on the ground

• Design and implement a national strategy for FSC Forest Management certification

• Establish and oversee a pipeline of certification prospects

• Grow the area of FSC-certified forests and the number of certificate holders

• Collaborate with essential stakeholders, including forest owners and government bodies

• Assist in the application of the FSC Forest Stewardship Standard

• Offer technical support to stakeholders

• Conduct training sessions and workshops to advocate for FSC

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in forestry, sustainability, certification, or related domains

• In-depth knowledge of the Romanian forestry sector and governance framework

• Proven experience in engaging with governmental and industry stakeholders

• Experience with FSC or certification processes is highly desirable

• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation abilities

• Capacity to merge technical knowledge with strategic insight

• Proficient in project management and execution

• Experience in governmental engagement within the forestry sector

• Familiarity with auditing is an asset

• High degree of autonomy and accountability

• Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a comparable field

• Proficiency in both Romanian and English
