This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Examine the causes and origins of failures, damages, or defects in mechanical systems and components.
• Assess the failures of mechanical systems, identify the root causes, and evaluate construction quality.
• Conduct field investigations, lead collaborative examinations, and document damages to properties.
• Investigate failure modes, review code requirements, and offer recommendations for repairs and/or replacements as necessary.
• Create accurate, clear, comprehensive, and concise reports and documentation for clients, outlining opinions and conclusions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on extensive and intricate assignments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the insurance or legal forensics sectors.
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license, at a minimum, from the resident state.
• Willingness to engage in expert witness work and provide testimony in court.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be adaptable to travel, with an ability to accommodate approximately 30–50% travel requirements.
