Food & Health Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide risk support for a designated group of pubs in the South East.

• Offer clear and sensible risk advice to pubs and operational teams.

• Assist sites in understanding best practices and areas for improvement.

• Investigate serious incidents, accidents, and claims.

• Generate comprehensive reports detailing what occurred, the reasons behind it, and subsequent actions required.

• Support sites with poor audit results and guide them back to compliance.

• Collaborate with operations to pinpoint recurring issues and their root causes.

• Present risk trends and insights during area or operational meetings.

• Assist with legal, insurance, or regulatory matters as necessary.

• Aid the broader Risk team in enhancing consistency across the organization.

• Cultivate relationships with General Managers, Area Managers, Operations Managers, and support teams.

• Support, challenge, and advise operational teams regarding daily standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in risk, safety, compliance, or a similar operational support role.

• Hospitality experience is beneficial; experience in another multi-site, customer-facing environment is also relevant.

• Enjoy collaborating with operational teams.

• Comfortable visiting sites and addressing real-world challenges.

• Capable of investigating incidents and composing clear reports.

• Familiar with health and safety, food safety, or fire safety principles.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks without losing focus.

• Confidence in having candid discussions.

• Ability to remain calm in urgent or sensitive situations.

• A problem-solving mindset.

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Practical, organized, inquisitive, and approachable demeanor.

• Composed under pressure.

• Comfortable respectfully challenging others.

• Able to work independently while being part of a larger team.

• Proficient in explaining complex risk issues in straightforward language.

• Capability to apply risk knowledge effectively in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
