This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee daily installation and assembly operations for FSC equipment and related systems.
• Manage field activities across structural, mechanical, and electrical installation sectors.
• Ensure that installations adhere to approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and OEM guidelines.
• Track progress against the project timeline and short-term planning.
• Identify on-site constraints and promptly escalate risks, delays, or technical challenges.
• Confirm readiness for each installation phase prior to the commencement of work.
• Facilitate coordination between delivered equipment, erection teams, electrical installers, and commissioning staff.
• Enforce site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, permit-to-work controls, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe work practices.
• Lead or assist in toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, and hazard assessments.
• Ensure that safety practices for work at heights, lifting operations, temporary grounding, and high-voltage sites are properly managed.
• Monitor subcontractors’ adherence to project safety guidelines and customer safety protocols.
• Halt work if unsafe conditions or actions are detected.
• Support the reporting, investigation, and corrective actions related to incidents.
• Oversee the installation of key FSC components (FSC equipment, steel supports, insulated platform systems, buswork, etc.).
• Validate correct interpretation of erection drawings, general arrangements, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and vendor documentation.
• Facilitate technical clarifications with engineering and OEM experts.
• Assist in the inspection of clearances, alignment, torque specifications, labeling, equipment condition, and installation quality.
• Ensure proper handling and installation of sensitive high-voltage equipment and components.
• Verify that installations comply with quality plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), check sheets, and hold/witness points.
• Confirm the completion of installation records, redlines, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
• Track non-conformances and ensure that corrective measures are taken.
• Ensure installation completion and system readiness for testing.
• Coordinate the closure of punch lists before energization.
• Assist with mechanical completion checks and transition to commissioning.
• Help with cable continuity checks, point-to-point verifications, functional tests, and equipment readiness assessments.
• Coordinate on-site commissioning activities in line with the commissioning plan.
• Ensure that as-built updates and final turnover packages accurately reflect field conditions.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience, or a certified Electrician/Lineman with at least 10 years of experience, including Superintendent and trades management experience.
• Proficient understanding of FSC systems, substation equipment installation, and high-voltage electrical/mechanical erection practices.
• Capability to read and interpret single line diagrams (SLD), general arrangement drawings, structural/erection drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and installation protocols.
• Familiarity with construction quality processes and inspection standards.
• Strong comprehension of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements for high-voltage project sites.
• Availability to work at project sites across Canada and the US.
• Proven field leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple contractors and their interfaces simultaneously.
• High attention to safety, quality, and detail.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills in construction environments.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while upholding standards.
