First Line of Defence, Issues Management Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive reviews and quality assurance checks on Book of Record issue records.

• Assess issue descriptions, root causes, risk alignment, severity ratings, risk classifications, control linkages, and associated documentation.

• Evaluate the rationale behind issue treatment and verify necessary Book of Record fields.

• Track issue progress throughout its lifecycle, including updates, timelines, action plans, and target completion dates.

• Offer constructive feedback to Issue Owners and Managers.

• Detect gaps, inconsistencies, and unsupported assumptions within issue records.

• Ensure alignment of issues with enterprise risk taxonomies, control frameworks, and identified control failures.

• Assist in reporting on issue status, aging, severity trends, overdue issues, and remediation progress.

• Collaborate with Issue Owners, Action Plan Managers, Business Units, and risk and governance teams.

• Provide guidance on issue management standards and escalate concerns when standards or timelines are not adhered to.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, controls, or governance.

• Profound knowledge of issue management frameworks and their lifecycle.

• Strong grasp of risk, control, and governance principles.

• In-depth understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model.

• Experience with enterprise tools such as Archer (Book of Record) or similar GRC platforms.

• Preferred background in issue quality review, testing, or roles involving effective challenge.

• Preferred experience in regulatory, audit, or compliance settings.

• Familiarity with risk taxonomies and control frameworks.

• Understanding of issue remediation and control testing concepts.
