This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Take ownership of the complete firmware/embedded-software architecture for TYLsemi chiplets.
β’ Collaborate with Chip Architects to establish the firmware/hardware interface ensuring a smooth HW-to-SW transition.
β’ Manage on-die boot processes and secure boot, link sequencing, and configuration of PCIe/CXL controllers.
β’ Create a standardized workflow for firmware development and DV test cases.
β’ Lead pre-silicon firmware and host-software development using emulation and virtual platforms.
β’ Establish the infrastructure for firmware engineering.
β’ Serve as the technical liaison between firmware/software and architecture teams.
β’ Define technical direction, develop roadmaps, and establish clear ownership of subsystems.
β’ A BS/MS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
β’ Over 12 years of experience in embedded firmware development, including a minimum of 5 years focused on silicon-level bring-up and validation of high-speed interface IPs.
β’ Proficient understanding of design verification (DV) and HW/SW co-simulation/co-verification processes.
β’ Expert-level knowledge of C and assembly language for resource-constrained embedded CPUs (RISC-V or Arm Cortex-M/R class).
β’ Strong debugging abilities utilizing JTAG/OpenOCD, trace, and logic analyzers.
β’ In-depth expertise in PCIe technology.
β’ Practical experience with HPC compute SoC firmware ecosystems.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of x86 server platform boot processes.
β’ Familiarity with secure-boot architectures, code-signing processes, and OTA update mechanisms for embedded systems.
