Fire Protection – Field Operations Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and enhance customer relationships, acting as a vital field representative and ensuring alignment with client expectations.

• Evaluate project plans, specifications, and materials to identify potential conflicts, availability issues, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.

• Discover cost-saving options while upholding quality and safety standards.

• Engage in project handoff meetings, providing insights on scope, schedule, subcontractors, manpower, and materials.

• Review all contract documents, drawings, and schedules in preparation for field execution.

• Ensure the alignment of subcontractors, equipment, and materials prior to project mobilization.

• Monitor and assess key project documentation, including lookaheads, daily reports, site inspections, schedules, and KPIs.

• Participate in monthly leadership reviews to discuss budget adjustments and lessons learned.

• Facilitate and actively engage in monthly PX-FOD coordination meetings, ensuring synchronization between field operations and project leadership.

• Work closely with Project Executives to align field execution with management strategies, objectives, and project requirements.

• Track project progress, identify potential delays, and implement strategies for mitigation.

• Lead weekly manpower planning with other FODs, coordinating staffing across projects and collaborating with recruiting to fulfill hiring needs.

• Conduct FOD audits to ensure compliance, performance, safety, and quality across all projects.

• Oversee the timely delivery, storage, calibration, and maintenance of owned and rented equipment, resolving any issues that may affect field operations.

• Conduct regular site visits to enforce Mullins’ safety policies, site-specific plans, and OSHA regulations.

• Lead weekly safety toolbox talks, review Job Safety Analyses (MSAs), and manage incident reporting.

• Perform routine quality audits to ensure that installations meet company standards and collaborate with teams to implement necessary corrective actions.

• Ensure that closeout packages are complete, accurate, and effectively transitioned to warranty teams.

• Participate in lessons-learned sessions to enhance future project planning and execution.

• Foster employee development by providing support, training, and mentorship to superintendents, project managers, and field leaders.

• Advocate for a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and collaboration across all levels of field operations.

• Oversee HR-related field processes, including time tracking, attendance, and appropriate use of cost codes.

• Drive performance to meet or exceed company KPIs in safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.

• Collaborate with estimating teams during bidding processes, offering technical guidance.

• Manage the jobsite tools and equipment (both owned and rented), including inspection logs, maintenance schedules, and calibration reports.

• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within a self-performed construction trade.

• In-depth knowledge of construction operations, processes, safety, and quality standards.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, Revit, and Microsoft Project.

• Demonstrated capability to lead, mentor, and inspire diverse project teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
