This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Take ownership of the architecture for a major component or a suite of services.
• Create and maintain financial software solutions that emphasize payment systems, transaction processing, and integration of financial services.
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and efficient APIs for both customer-facing and internal financial services.
• Build distributed backend systems that prioritize high availability, fault tolerance, and security.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams within an Agile environment.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems utilizing AWS CloudWatch and other relevant tools.
• Oversee system performance and resource utilization.
• Address incidents, troubleshoot issues, and conduct post-mortem analyses.
• Design and execute integrations with third-party financial services and payment gateways, such as ACH, credit card processing, and digital wallets.
• Maintain code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.
• Promote coding standards and best practices within the team.
• Ensure adherence to security policies and standards, including PCI-DSS compliance.
• Convert complex requirements into actionable implementation plans and lead enhancements to products.
• Develop strategic software solutions that cater to customer needs and foster seamless financial service experiences.
• Contribute to broader engineering initiatives and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in software development with a focus on financial technology and payment systems.
• Proven experience in creating scalable, secure software solutions and APIs for high-transaction environments.
• Strong programming skills in Node.js, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
• Experience in designing and implementing APIs, backend systems, and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud services, with a preference for AWS experience.
• Knowledge of software security, encryption, and fintech compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and SOC2.
• Understanding of fintech ecosystems, including ACH, payment gateways, and real-time transaction processing.
• Experience in fast-paced startup settings is advantageous.
• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a primarily sedentary position, including sitting, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and close vision.
