This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee cloud expenditures and ensure that costs stay within the established budget.
• Notify stakeholders about anomalies, new costs, and changes in consumption or quotas.
• Predict future cloud spending.
• Manage Commitments and/or reservations where applicable.
• Evaluate service usage and suggest or implement cost-saving measures.
• Research vendor technologies and tools to enhance applications.
• Generate financial and team reports.
• Establish alerts and track consumption and quota-based vendors.
• Ensure consistent tagging of services and applications for accurate reporting.
• Communicate with high-usage teams regarding waste, errors, or misinterpretations of services.
• Enforce minimum tagging and labeling standards.
• Modify quota-based vendor consumption to prevent exceeding contract limits.
• Develop and assess dashboards while analyzing usage trends.
• Investigate significant spending fluctuations and clarify service cost impacts to engineering teams.
• Assist with forecasting, maintain alerts and reports, and identify opportunities for waste reduction or to prevent exceeding quotas and contract limits.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and vendor owners on cost visibility, accountability, and cloud efficiency.
• Strong comprehension of cloud architecture and infrastructure services.
• Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Development experience, including scripting or creating tools to automate reporting, alerting, or cloud operations workflows.
• Proficient in using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform for consistent and repeatable cloud resource management.
• Familiarity with cloud cost management or FinOps practices.
• Knowledge of AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing, BigQuery, Grafana, or other reporting and observability tools.
• Experience in building dashboards, reports, or automated alerts for both technical and financial stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate cloud cost drivers to engineering teams, Finance, and leadership.
• Experience with tagging or labeling strategies, chargeback or showback models, and cloud governance standards.
• Understanding of vendor quota management, contracts, reservations, committed use discounts, or savings plans.
• Analytical mindset, proactive approach, and comfortable working across engineering and finance disciplines.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous cost changes, clearly communicate findings, and follow through until waste or reporting discrepancies are addressed.
• Capability to balance technical depth with practical business acumen.
• Base salary ranging from $110,000 to $120,000 annually.
• Variable compensation may be applicable.
