Financial Scriptwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Develop one 30–35 minute, approximately 4,200-word long-form YouTube script each week for Future Finance.

• Take full responsibility for the research supporting every claim and trace these claims to primary sources.

• Create 3–4 short-form scripts derived from each long-form episode.

• Deliver a complete weekly package that includes a research memo, a six-beat hook, the main body, a retention map, inline SHOW/SOURCE tags, and a self-assessed review sheet.

• Achieve a first-submission review score of 7/9 or higher according to the Future Finance Content Standard.

• Ensure all factual claims are sourced, maintaining zero unsourced statements, and attribute every claim to a primary document.

• Present both perspectives of contentious arguments and highlight any weak research instead of fabricating figures.

• Meet retention goals of over 70% for first-minute retention and an average view duration that exceeds the channel's baseline.

• Maintain compliance by refraining from making predictions, recommendations, or using definitive language regarding future events.

• Submit the research memo prior to packaging, participate in weekly reviews, be available on Slack during working hours, and flag any deadline risks as soon as they arise.

• Operate within the topics, packaging, and proprietary frameworks set by the showrunner, production agency, and Salim.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to source claims from primary documents and justify the work produced.

• Strong finance literacy, including the ability to read 10-Ks, central bank statements, and BIS papers.

• Capability to maintain a calm, premium, institutional brand voice.

• Expertise in retention strategies, including open loops, pattern interrupts, climaxes, and retention mapping.

• Proficiency in writing for auditory formats and teleprompters, ensuring one idea per sentence and defining terms upon first use.

• Comfort in working within existing frameworks while identifying unsupported arguments.

• Proactive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, high standards, curiosity about macro and digital assets, and integrity.

• Proven track record of seven figures in cumulative views on finance, macro, investing, or business long-form content, or verified 3x-plus performance against a notable finance channel's trailing average.

• Long-form content should be 25 minutes or longer; short-form and 8-minute credits are not counted.

• Retention data is required, including average view duration and first-minute retention, verified through YouTube Studio screenshare or channel owner confirmation.

• Evidence of a high-value audience, encompassing details on what the channel sells, pricing, audience demographics, sponsor class, and/or CPM.

• At least one sample demonstrating a calm, sourced, institutional style.

• Willingness to produce a paid work sample.

• Must complete the assigned trial work within five working days.

• Required to provide a research memo, hook, complete script with SHOW cues and SOURCE tags inline, and a retention map for the trial.

• The contract includes a 3-month trial period at a monthly rate, with the potential for conversion to a permanent position on day 90 based on performance outcomes.
