This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.
• Directly supervise and nurture the development of Financial Analysts; manage the prioritization of their workloads, performance evaluation, and professional growth within the FA team.
• Provide assistance in comprehensive financial and statistical reporting for the firm, encompassing monthly and annual leadership reports as well as materials for the Executive Board.
• Enhance and maintain reporting dashboards and statistical platforms, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data across all systems.
• Compile and prepare partner-related statistics (compensation, new partners, and Partner Contribution Report) for review by the partner compensation leadership team.
• Oversee and coordinate the FA team’s involvement in the Firm’s budgeting and forecasting processes, including revenue and expense projections, forecasting, and analysis of internal targets.
• Convert strategic initiatives into quantifiable metrics and assist in tracking performance across the Firm, office, and SBU levels.
• Manage external financial and diversity surveys; guarantee precise data collection and timely submissions.
• Supervise internal reporting controls, ensuring that monthly data builds and integrity checks are conducted accurately and punctually by the team.
• Conduct statistical and financial analyses related to the Firm, offices, SBUs, clients/matters, and timekeepers; escalate any identified trends or risks.
• Create ad hoc and client-specific reports and analyses to facilitate leadership decision-making.
• Coordinate the team’s contributions to year-end reporting, tax schedules, audit requests, and balance sheet reviews; ensure that all deliverables are accurate and timely.
• Assist in evaluating the financial implications of lateral hires and other strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director to assess, enhance, and modernize financial reporting processes by leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices to boost reporting efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Associate Director and Firm leadership.
• Bachelor's degree with major coursework in Finance is required; industry certifications are preferred or a combination of relevant educational and professional experience is necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience leading a team within a law firm is preferred.
• Capability to analyze and interpret information from diverse sources, applying critical and creative thinking to derive conclusions or develop solutions for complex issues.
• Proficiency in data extraction and system management within enterprise data warehouse environments (ETL) is required; knowledge of budget platforms is essential.
• SQL proficiency is mandatory.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
• Working knowledge of Power BI is necessary; familiarity with SSRS is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational skills are required.
• High initiative and self-motivation are essential qualities.
• A keen attention to detail is required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all leaders across the firm is crucial.
