• In the role of Financial Operations Specialist, you will oversee the financial operations of a rapidly evolving technical program that directly supports the warfighter.
• Your responsibilities will include tracking and forecasting budgets, monitoring burn rates, managing funding documents, and providing program leadership with a clear and updated overview of financial status.
• You will collaborate across appropriations (O&M, RDT&E, Procurement) and funding vehicles to align resources with mission priorities, facilitate reprogramming initiatives, and prepare financial contributions for POM, budget reviews, and unfunded requirement (UFR) submissions.
• You will work closely with contracting, program management, and the government resource manager to track obligations and expenditures, reconcile financial data across various systems, and address discrepancies before they escalate into issues.
• Your role will involve generating decision-ready financial briefs and dashboards for senior military leadership.
• You will proactively tackle unique and/or complex challenges with minimal direction and will thrive in a fast-paced technical environment supporting a 2-star level customer.
• You possess advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query) and are proficient in PowerPoint and Word.
• You are capable of creating the presentation for a financial review and effectively delivering it.
• An active Secret clearance is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• A minimum of 5 years of financial management or financial operations experience supporting DoD programs is necessary.
• Proven experience in managing DoD appropriations (O&M, RDT&E, and/or Procurement) along with the associated color-of-money regulations.
• Practical experience with DoD financial systems such as GFEBS, DAI, CRIS, ERP, or equivalent is essential.
• Experience in tracking obligations, expenditures, commitments, and burn rates against approved budgets is required.
• Familiarity with supporting POM, budget submissions, and reprogramming actions is necessary.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query) along with strong skills in PowerPoint and Word is expected.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; capable of briefing financial status and risks to GO/SES-level stakeholders.
