This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct independent evaluations of financial and analytics quantitative models, including ALM, allowance/loss forecasting, loan transition models, corporate financial planning models, take-up and engagement models, and associated decision-support analytics.

• Oversee comprehensive validation projects on models that are high in complexity and criticality.

• Detect model vulnerabilities, limitations, and areas for enhancement.

• Effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with model owners and stakeholders from Finance, Quantitative Research, and Growth Analytics to address findings and improve model governance.

• Collaborate across functions to execute and uphold Affirm's Model Risk Management framework.

• Partner with Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Accounting, and Compliance to timely resolve audit, regulatory, and examiner inquiries.


⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in model development, model validation, quantitative finance, or data analytics, with significant exposure to financial or analytics model validation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance, treasury, ALM, and/or actuarial/statistical forecasting.

• Experience in credit underwriting or credit risk management is advantageous.

• Demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and managing large datasets like SQL.

• Comfortable reviewing models developed in Excel, Python, Databricks, or equivalent platforms.

• Familiarity with statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, simulation, and/or machine learning techniques applied to finance and analytics scenarios.

• BS, MS, or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Data Science.

• Detail-oriented with a strong intellectual curiosity about data, models, and their business context.

• Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

• Capability to influence model owners, present to senior stakeholders, and facilitate cross-functional remediation.
