Financial Crimes QA Analyst II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Implement the quality assurance program aimed at Second Line of Defense (2LoD) Financial Crimes operations, including BSA/AML, Sanctions, and Fraud.

• Conduct thorough QA evaluations of 2LoD casework, memos, and decisions to ensure accuracy, completeness, risk-based judgment, and compliance with regulations.

• Assess the quality of 2LoD oversight, focusing on issue identification, escalation, and resolution processes.

• Independently evaluate complex or unclear issues and ascertain if risk-based decisions are sufficiently supported and documented.

• Offer expertise and guidance to colleagues regarding QA standards, regulatory expectations, and review methodologies.

• Record QA findings, identify gaps, analyze root causes, and assess the impacts on the effectiveness of risk management.

• Assign severity ratings based on risk exposure and regulatory considerations.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to address findings, assess corrective action plans, and confirm the effectiveness of remediation efforts.

• Provide an independent challenge within the 2LoD framework.

• Assist in regulatory examinations by showcasing the effectiveness and rigor of 2LoD oversight and QA practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.

• 3-5+ years of experience in Financial Crimes (AML, Sanctions, Fraud).

• Direct experience in 2LoD Compliance / Financial Crimes oversight or QA / Testing of Financial Crimes functions.

• In-depth knowledge of BSA/AML and sanctions regulatory requirements.

• Strong understanding of 2LoD roles and responsibilities within the three lines of defense framework.

• Comprehensive knowledge of financial crime risk management frameworks and governance practices.

• Experience in reviewing complex financial crime cases and providing oversight or critical evaluation.

• Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.

• Ability to operate independently with minimal direction while handling multiple priorities and intricate reviews.

• Proficiency in assessing the quality of judgment and oversight.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to influence and challenge colleagues within Compliance.
