Financial Crimes Compliance Modeling & Analytics Manager

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of Mercury's customers, transactions, alerts, TM rules, risk ratings, and other relevant data using SQL and various analytical tools.

• Employ data-driven strategies to enhance, design, implement, and sustain Mercury's FCC models.

• Create customized transaction monitoring rules and sanctions screening methodologies.

• Collaborate with Compliance, Product, and Data leadership to convert regulatory requirements into effective analytical frameworks.

• Possess the ability to narrate compelling stories through data.

• Analyze analytics outputs to identify which alerts, patterns, or anomalies indicate true risk.

• Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding the configuration of FCC models.

• Assess and fine-tune existing detection models and rules to minimize false positives.

• Develop data-driven techniques to uncover new typologies, emerging risks, and evolving trends in financial crime.

• Collaborate with Model Risk Management for the validation and performance monitoring of models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field).

• Over 8 years of experience in performing extensive data analytics.

• At least 5 years in roles focused on FCC or AML/Sanctions related analytics.

• Profound understanding of AML and Sanctions principles and regulations.

• Excellent skills in standard analytical tools; exceptional SQL proficiency is essential, with experience in Python or similar languages preferred.

• Experience in developing, tuning, and maintaining machine learning or rule-based detection models.

• Proven track record in identifying opportunities to enhance data-related and operational efficiencies.

• High level of agency and adaptability.
