Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Supervise the financial closing processes at the end of each month and year.

• Generate precise financial statements and management reports.

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of variances.

• Ensure adherence to tax regulations, submissions to SARS, and compliance with statutory obligations.

• Establish and uphold internal financial controls.

• Collaborate with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

• Offer financial insights and strategic recommendations to the executive team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting position.

• CA(SA) qualification or an equivalent (CIMA/ACCA will be considered).

• In-depth understanding of IFRS and South African tax legislation.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including financial modeling capabilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

• Effective communication skills for reporting to stakeholders outside of finance.

• Experience in a rapidly growing SME or a remote-first organization is a plus.
