Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Paraguay.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage all accounting functions for Canada and LATAM.

• Ensure precise financial closings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Review and confirm financial statements in adherence to local regulations and corporate standards.

• Uphold robust internal controls and accounting policies.

• Mentor and manage accounting teams across various regions.

• Coordinate workflows, set priorities, and establish deadlines between Canada and LATAM.

• Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting-related matters.

• Promote a culture of accountability, precision, and ongoing improvement.

• Ensure adherence to tax regulations, audits, and statutory obligations across all regions.

• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

• Identify financial risks and recommend strategies for mitigation.

• Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and Executive teams.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.

• Provide valuable insights to leadership for informed decision-making and business expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA or equivalent is highly desirable).

• Over 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management positions.

• Proven track record of managing accounting teams effectively.

• Strong understanding of multi-country accounting practices.

• Experience with accounting frameworks specific to Canada and/or LATAM.

• Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with accounting systems / ERPs.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish (mandatory).
