Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive bookkeeping and financial management tasks for two business entities.

• Manage client invoicing along with accounts payable and receivable functions.

• Conduct account reconciliations and ensure the maintenance of precise financial records.

• Prepare and arrange financial data for accountants and for compliance with tax obligations.

• Supervise cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Generate regular financial reports and budget predictions.

• Guarantee that financial records are well-organised, accurate, and ready for audits.

• Assist ecommerce financial operations, including inventory management and tracking.

• Support analysis and forecasting related to cost of goods sold (COGS).

• Track operational expenditures and monitor profitability trends.

• Provide support for backend ecommerce operations, including necessary Shopify administration.

• Aid in managing duplicate product pages and coordinating operational tasks.

• Collaborate closely with logistics and fulfilment processes across various systems.

• Manage and reconcile expenses related to the founder, including AMEX transactions.

• Organise financial documents and supporting materials for tax purposes.

• Assist with financial administration and the management of personal expenses.

• Maintain clarity and organisation in both personal and business finance operations.

• Support payroll management for a team based in the US.

• Coordinate with automated payroll systems and processes in the US.

• Assist with operational administration tasks related to:

• - 401k coordination

• - healthcare and insurance management

• - maintaining system logins and insurance details through OnePass systems

• - Ensure payroll and team operational records remain accurate and up to date.

• Document financial workflows, operational processes, and internal protocols.

• Develop SOPs and process manuals to enhance transparency and continuity.

• Coordinate across various operational systems and platforms.

• Support backend operational systems, including logistics and 3PL coordination as needed.

• Ensure that the founder and CEO have clear visibility into financial and operational activities.

• Identify opportunities for improving processes, automation, and reporting efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in roles such as Financial Controller, Senior Bookkeeper, Finance Operations Manager, or a comparable mid-senior finance position.

• Strong practical knowledge of Xero (essential).

• Experience with Shopify in an ecommerce setting (essential).

• Proven ability to independently manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and forecasting.

• Solid understanding of cash flow management and financial operations.

• Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail.

• Proficient in process documentation and creation of SOPs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Comfortable navigating a variety of systems and operational platforms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive thinking.

• Capable of prioritising and managing multiple workflows concurrently.

• High degree of accountability and ownership mentality.

• **Nice to have:**

• Experience in supporting ecommerce or creator businesses led by founders.

• Experience in US payroll administration.

• Familiarity with inventory forecasting and COGS analysis.
