Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Collect and confirm demographic and insurance details, which encompass authorizations, referrals, and notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and various other procedures/treatments.

• Arrange initial, follow-up, and additional appointments/procedures for patients.

• Operate within a call center setting while achieving personal quality metrics related to productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Manage patient flow and guarantee prompt processing.

• Stay informed about departmental, physician practice, and hospital protocols to effectively address patient inquiries or issues.

• Maintain an understanding of insurance prerequisites, Baptist Health South Florida pricing, financial assistance options, and revenue cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, empathetic, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and members of the community.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Completion and successful passing of the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, and possessing excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems, along with accurate typing skills.

• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, particularly regarding medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• Less than 1 year of experience is required.
