Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Collect and confirm demographic and insurance details.

• Secure authorizations, referrals, and notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and various other procedures/treatments.

• Schedule patients for their initial, follow-up, and additional appointments/procedures.

• Operate in a call center-like environment.

• Achieve individual quality metrics, which include productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Facilitate patient flow and guarantee timely processing.

• Keep updated on and implement practices utilized within the department, physician practice, and hospital to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Maintain awareness of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida pricing, financial assistance options, and Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Complete and successfully pass the Patient Access training course.

• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

• Accurate typing abilities.

• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
