Financial Analyst – Disbursements

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess account information and financial data to detect discrepancies and ensure precision.

• Retrieve data from company databases and utilize Excel queries, filters, and other analytical tools to generate reports for management.

• Reconcile account activities, examine unexpected variances, and support the development and execution of solutions.

• Confirm the accurate posting of checks and other financial transactions while researching any unexplained account activities.

• Apply for tax identification numbers with state and federal agencies and respond to agency inquiries in a professional manner.

• Monitor tax identification applications and liaise with appropriate agencies to guarantee that required identification numbers are received by set deadlines.

• Prepare quarterly and annual reconciliation reports that support income tax reporting obligations.

• Maintain precise client records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.

• Communicate project status, outstanding issues, and resolution efforts to Disbursements management, project managers, and relevant stakeholders as needed.

• Accurately log daily time in the company’s timekeeping system.

• Assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Disbursements management with special projects and additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant coursework and experience will also be considered.

• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes.

• Accounting coursework or prior accounting-related experience is strongly preferred.

• Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including experience with queries, filters, spreadsheets, and financial data.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a knack for identifying and investigating discrepancies.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with internal teams, clients, and government agencies.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.

• Capability to thrive in a deadline-driven, high-volume work setting.
