Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +23 more states.

📋 Description

• Aid in the monthly financial statement variance analysis by comparing actual outcomes against budgets, forecasts, and historical trends.

• Play a role in developing the Company’s rolling forecasts, annual operating plan, and long-term projections.

• Examine and report on essential SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, retention) to facilitate monthly forecasting and reporting.

• Calculate monthly incentive compensation (commissions, sales bonuses) and provide insights on streamlining the process.

• Execute vital month-end and quarter-end closing activities, preparing precise reporting deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes and tools that ensure data integrity and alignment across systems.

• Identify and implement process enhancements, including utilizing AI to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• Assist with various ad hoc finance tasks and special projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field, preferably in accounting or finance.

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with GAAP and financial statements.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a sense of ownership over your work.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present financial data effectively to non-finance partners.

• Ability to extract insights and create a compelling narrative around business metrics.

• An eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to solving problems independently.

• Strong critical thinking, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• A Professional finance designation – CPA or MBA is an advantage.

• Experience in a SaaS and/or startup environment; familiarity with ARR and SaaS unit economics.

• Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, Aleph, or similar software is preferred.

• Experience using AI to automate workflows (such as Claude Cowork or other tools).

• Proficient in financial modeling and sensitivity analysis.

• Comfortable in a dynamic environment; able to navigate ambiguity.
