This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full responsibility for the comprehensive preparation and submission of bank regulatory reports, including FFIEC Call Reports (031/041/051), along with other necessary filings to the OCC, FDIC, and any other relevant regulators.
• Create and uphold the regulatory reporting framework, which includes establishing reporting calendars, data sourcing workflows, reconciliation processes, and internal controls to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze and apply regulatory reporting guidelines (FFIEC, OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve) to Sezzle's distinct business model, ensuring correct classification and reporting of BNPL-related assets, liabilities, income, and capital.
• Keep track of and implement updates to regulatory reporting requirements, such as new or modified schedules, reporting thresholds, and interpretive guidance.
• Work collaboratively across departments including Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to gather data, address reporting inquiries, and ensure alignment between regulatory filings and GAAP financial statements.
• Assist in regulatory examinations and audits by supplying necessary documentation, responding to examiner questions concerning Call Report data, and addressing findings as required.
• Collaborate with external auditors and consultants on matters related to regulatory reporting, including agreed-upon procedures and attestation engagements.
• Create and maintain documentation of regulatory reporting policies, procedures, and methodologies to support SOX compliance and institutional knowledge.
• Utilize technology and automation to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of the regulatory reporting process. Advocate for the use of AI and contemporary tools to optimize data aggregation, validation, and submission workflows.
• Offer regulatory reporting expertise to leadership regarding the financial reporting implications of new products, strategic initiatives, and modifications to Sezzle's banking operations.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in bank regulatory reporting, with direct hands-on involvement in the preparation and filing of FFIEC Call Reports.
• Extensive knowledge of FFIEC reporting instructions, schedules, and regulatory capital calculations.
• Experience with OCC-supervised national banks or de novo bank reporting requirements is a significant advantage.
• Strong grasp of U.S. GAAP and the capability to connect GAAP financial statements with regulatory reporting frameworks.
• Proven experience in developing or significantly enhancing regulatory reporting processes, controls, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in regulatory reporting software/platforms and advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization or automation tools is beneficial.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a proven record of producing accurate, examination-ready regulatory filings.
• Strong communication abilities with the skill to translate complex regulatory reporting requirements into clear and actionable guidance for cross-functional partners.
• CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or similar large language model tools is essential; candidates should be comfortable using AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.
