Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Maintain, clean, and structure extensive financial record sets.

• Ensure the integrity of data across ledgers and reporting frameworks.

• Conduct weekly and monthly reconciliations for bank, revenue, and cryptocurrency balances.

• Investigate variances and discrepancies in financial data.

• Organize, assess, and rectify pre-close items for month-end financial closing.

• Assist in financial modeling and profitability assessments.

• Support the development of budget models and forecasting activities.

• Enhance financial reporting and reconciliation processes through automation tools and scripts, including Python, SQL, Google Apps Script, or advanced Excel macros.

• Identify and resolve process gaps, discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies.

• Carry out ad hoc assignments from senior management, investors, and external stakeholders.

• Provide assistance during year-end audits and tax reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.

• 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and accruals.

• Minimum GPA of 3.6.

• Proficient in Excel, with a strong focus on data manipulation.

• Practical experience in financial process automation.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Ability to independently recognize tasks, take initiative, and complete them with minimal oversight.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines.
