Finance Transformation Assistant Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Establish internal and external networks to enhance opportunity generation experience.

• Advance skills in finance automation technology and obtain certification in chosen solutions.

• Analyze root causes of client challenges and convert them into client solutions.

• Collaborate with Consulting and Grant Thornton to provide clients with suitable capabilities.

• Oversee quality, compliance, and risk aspects of engagements.

• Contribute to practice development, business development, marketing, and toolkit enhancement initiatives.

• Manage budgets and schedules for engagements.

• Lead and support workstreams related to controllership and financial close transformation projects.

• Evaluate current close procedures, identify bottlenecks, manual processes, control deficiencies, and opportunities for automation.

• Create and implement close calendars, frameworks for account reconciliation, task management workflows, and intercompany processes.

• Assist with technology implementations for close processes using FloQast, OneStream, and Prophix.

• Facilitate requirements gathering, configuration support, testing, and user adoption initiatives.

• Develop documentation for processes, policy frameworks, and training resources.

• Foster daily relationships with client finance teams and serve as a trusted contact point.

• Advance towards managing client relationships, workstreams, and leadership responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with relevant post-qualification experience.

• Strong interest in finance transformation and the impact of technology on improving controllership and close processes.

• Confidence in engaging with senior finance stakeholders and managing their expectations.

• Experience in Finance Consulting, External Audit, or finance roles within the industry, particularly in financial close, reporting, or controls.

• Background in month-end and year-end close, account reconciliation, financial controls and compliance, process enhancements, or finance system implementations.

• Familiarity with close automation or EPM technologies like FloQast, OneStream, Prophix, BlackLine, or comparable tools.

• Experience in Finance Change or Transformation Programs.

• Capability to utilize framework- and methodology-driven methods to identify root causes, suggest solutions, and aid in delivery.

• Strong digital and analytical skills within a finance context.

• Previous experience in leading workstreams or small teams with a desire to develop as a people leader.
