Finance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage the annual budget along with ongoing revenue forecasts.

• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis, providing actionable insights.

• Monitor and report on SaaS metrics such as MRR/ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, payback period, and net dollar retention.

• Create financial reports and dashboards for leadership.

• Conduct monthly scenario modeling to aid investment and cost-related decisions.

• Participate in leadership meetings, serving as the financial representative in operational discussions.

• Collaborate with the VP of Operations and department heads on forecasting, budgeting, expenditure, and resource allocation.

• Offer ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and long-term planning.

• Guide non-financial stakeholders in utilizing financial data effectively.

• Manage the monthly closing process to ensure accurate financial statements.

• Oversee revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15, including deferred revenue, chargebacks, cancellations, and adjustments.

• Supervise ChargeBee and Stripe billing operations along with subscription data integration into the general ledger.

• Direct the bookkeeper and oversee bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.

• Ensure audit readiness and coordinate with external tax advisors.

• Establish and document internal controls.

• Assess financial tools and workflows, identifying automation opportunities, including AI-assisted reconciliation and reporting.

• Develop runbooks and documentation for consistent finance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, particularly in SaaS or subscription-based businesses.

• Demonstrated hands-on FP&A expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

• Capability to create driver-based models and rolling forecasts from the ground up.

• Experience with scenario modeling, leadership reporting, and collaboration with non-financial leaders.

• Strong understanding of SaaS and subscription metrics including MRR/ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, payback, and net dollar retention.

• Controller-level experience managing or closely overseeing the monthly close and revenue recognition under ASC 606 or IFRS 15.

• Proficiency in subscription billing platforms like ChargeBee, Stripe, Recurly, or similar.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.

• Background in consumer or self-service, high-volume, low-ACV subscription models.

• Experience with a startup or high-growth company generating under $25M in revenue.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment and collaborate across various functions.

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification, along with direct ChargeBee experience and proficiency in AI tools, are highly valued.
