This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of variance analysis against budget and forecasts, transforming the results into insightful recommendations for senior leadership, rather than merely reporting figures.
• Develop and enhance financial models that connect operational drivers (ARR, headcount, margin, cash) to financial results.
• Collaborate with department heads to analyze performance trends and identify risks or opportunities before they escalate.
• Prepare financial presentations and narratives for the Board of Directors and the Risk & Audit Committee, covering KPIs, trends, risks, and forward-looking analysis.
• Present consolidated performance metrics and business updates to executive leadership, with direct interaction with the CFO and CEO.
• Deliver clear and concise financial narratives that are decision-oriented, tailored for a Board and executive audience.
• Act as a reliable finance business partner to functional leaders, offering insights, challenges, and support on critical initiatives.
• Assist in investment decisions, pricing adjustments, hiring strategies, and operational trade-offs through data-driven analysis, helping leaders make principled decisions that safeguard long-term value over short-term appearances.
• Cultivate cross-functional relationships that enhance financial understanding and ownership throughout the organization.
• Proactively identify structural risks and opportunities ahead of others, providing well-supported recommendations when necessary.
• Manage the monthly management reporting package, including financial outcomes, KPI dashboards, and executive commentary.
• Oversee IFRS 15 revenue reporting, including the monthly CARR waterfall, ensuring precise reconciliation among bookings, ARR, deferred revenue, recognized revenue, and other contractual movements that affect SaaS performance reporting.
• Analyze factors driving performance across revenue, cost structures, and margins, linking financial outcomes to operational activities and long-term value drivers.
• Ensure consistency between management reports and statutory results across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
• Collaborate with Accounting on IFRS-related matters to ensure management reporting and Board materials reflect actual accounting conditions.
• Assist in preparing discussions for the Risk & Audit Committee, offering forward-looking risk assessments and sensitivity analyses.
• Guarantee the accuracy and integrity of reporting models and tools within NetSuite and related systems.
• Identify structural inefficiencies or risks in your workflow that may not be apparent to others and proactively address them.
• Contribute suggestions for automation and standardization in your area, in collaboration with your manager.
• Utilize AI tools within your workflows, adhering to team best practices for capability, scalability, and risk management.
• Implement human-and-AI workflows (e.g., in variance analysis, board deck preparation, or performance reporting) to enhance your capacity and improve quality.
• Take full responsibility for your core deliverables and their downstream effects, escalating issues early when there is a risk.
• When your work does not meet expectations, accept responsibility, identify the cause, and implement solutions without needing prompting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• 6–9 years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, or finance business partnering.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (including pivot tables, scenario modeling, and automation).
• Proven ability to create and manage integrated financial models rather than just maintaining existing ones.
• Strong analytical skills with a history of distilling complex data into business recommendations that impact executive decisions.
• Experience supporting sales or marketing functions in a SaaS or recurring revenue environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence non-financial stakeholders and present to senior leadership or the Board.
• Genuine interest in customer and business context — capable of relating financial analysis to long-term customer value and business outcomes, not solely focused on reporting accuracy.
• Strong sense of ownership — comfortable being accountable for outcomes with significant consequences, including situations where an analysis or recommendation falls short.
• Comprehensive health & dental coverage (with no waiting period) plus a $500 health spending account.
• Monthly reimbursement for fitness, wellness, or mental health programs.
• Meaningful equity: Every full-time, permanent employee has a stake in our growth.
• Career advancement is based on contribution, initiative, and the ability to elevate performance collectively.
• Clear expectations, honest feedback, and a politics-free environment.
• From So-learns to Solink-o and So-lunches, we foster connections in enjoyable ways.
