Finance Expert – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the research team to gain insights into the practical execution of finance tasks.

• Create authentic finance tasks that qualified professionals can resolve, which current AI models tend to misinterpret.

• Develop credible evidence files based on provided scenarios, including trial balances, reconciliations, financial models, investment memos, audit workpapers, and supporting evidence.

• Draft task requests that articulate deliverables and clarify how uncertainty and justified assumptions should be managed.

• Complete tasks from start to finish and document reference solutions, providing rationale for each step.

• Formulate detailed scoring criteria, including acceptable alternative responses.

• Review both personal and peers' tasks for precision and clarity.

• Integrate reviewer feedback within agreed turnaround times and identify guideline gaps or edge cases.

• Describe finance workflows, documentation, responsibilities, and potential failure points to the research team.

• Evaluate research-developed scenarios and documents, flagging any unrealistic elements to practitioners.

• Participate in a brief AI interview, resume evaluation, and a compensated trial task during the hiring process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in at least one relevant finance domain, such as accounting, financial reporting, investment banking, private equity, equity research, corporate development, or audit.

• Proficient understanding of applicable standards, controls, and regulations, including US GAAP or IFRS, PCAOB and AICPA auditing standards, SOX, or valuation methodologies and deal mechanics.

• Strong skills in spreadsheet usage and a consistent practice of linking every figure back to its source.

• Ability to write clearly and precisely in professional English.

• Capability to work independently and asynchronously while meeting deadlines.

• Previous experience in drafting or reviewing AI evaluation tasks, exam questions, case studies, or training materials is preferable.

• Familiarity with common AI model shortcomings is a plus.

• All tasks, documents, and solutions must be created by humans; content generated by LLMs is not allowed.

• Tasks and solutions must be original and not sourced from published or easily searchable materials.

• Real client, employer, or personal data must never be utilized; all scenarios should be fictional.
