Finance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage client-oriented dashboards as dynamic financial web applications featuring scenario sliders, drill-down tables, and Excel exporting capabilities.

• Create versioned AI automation processes, including workflows that transform billing spreadsheets into reconciled QuickBooks invoices with approval checkpoints.

• Write database queries for reporting purposes and link them to real-time client accounting data.

• Examine financial discrepancies, identify genuine variances as opposed to incomparable figures, and document findings.

• Educate accountants and operators on how to create their own tools.

• Conduct virtual meetings with key client stakeholders to assess their needs and develop solutions.

• Collaborate with experts in accounting and finance, as well as Software Engineers, Senior Controllers, CFOs, and Accounting Managers.

• Design, maintain, and improve secure data warehouses, APIs, and hosted web application infrastructure in partnership with the VP of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree focused on Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of cumulative experience in accounting or finance combined with software or systems development.

• CPA or CMA certification preferred, though not required.

• SQL proficiency is preferred, but not mandatory.

• In-depth experience with at least one accounting system, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously in a completely remote setting.

• A designated workspace and dependable, secure, high-speed internet connection.

• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

• Must be located in the United States.

• Extensive knowledge in accounting, financial statements, month-end closing, receivables and payables, reconciliation, and general ledger operations.

• Capability to write and maintain production-level code and database queries.

• Experience in developing AI tools.

• Proficiency in working with incomplete or inaccurate documentation and adapting to system realities.
