Finance Director – Sports & Entertainment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the formulation and implementation of the financial strategy for the UK S&E sector.

• Provide strategic insights and constructive challenges to the leadership team to facilitate informed, data-driven decisions.

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for multisite, multi-client operations.

• Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls, and adherence to accounting standards and processes.

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures while reporting to the UK Group.

• Analyze trading performance across event days and non-event days to uncover opportunities for revenue and margin enhancement.

• Support pricing strategies, yield optimization, and menu engineering for hospitality services.

• Collaborate with operational leaders to promote cost control, labor planning, procurement efficiency, and inventory management.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the S&E MD and sector leadership, delivering clear and actionable financial insights.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, encouraging capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.

• Senior finance leadership experience in a high-volume hospitality, stadium catering, sports, or large-scale events setting.

• Strong grasp of cost control, labor management, and food & beverage profitability.

• Experience with contract-based commercial models such as concessions, revenue sharing, or joint ventures.

• An influential communicator and presenter who is commercially savvy, analytical, pragmatic, and effective under pressure.

• Exhibits high integrity, a strong governance mindset, and a dedication to providing exceptional service while closely partnering with operational teams.
