Finance Director – Director of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assume accountability for the global finance and accounting functions, creating strategies, priorities, and standards for all legal entities.

• Lead, mentor, and nurture the accounting team while managing relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax partners.

• Serve as a strategic finance partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.

• Oversee monthly and quarterly closing processes in NetSuite.

• Prepare and record journal entries, provisions, and adjustments.

• Conduct reconciliations for balance sheets and income statements.

• Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules in compliance with ASC 606.

• Assist with subscription (SaaS) billing processes.

• Manage multi-entity accounting for the US, UK, Germany, and India, including intercompany transactions and multi-currency consolidation.

• Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle.

• Collaborate with Financial Planning on budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow modeling.

• Support the subscription renewal cycle and track SaaS metrics.

• Calculate and reconcile sales commissions in partnership with Sales and HR.

• Prepare and present key performance indicator (KPI) reports to the portfolio group/shareholders.

• Manage accounts receivable and collection efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or MBA is advantageous.

• Over 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including management roles, preferably with companies based in the United States.

• Robust knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

• Practical experience with NetSuite (mandatory).

• Background in a SaaS or subscription-based organization.

• Proficient in utilizing artificial intelligence tools and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement.

• Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities in English.

• Familiarity with ASC 606 and SaaS revenue accounting (preferred).

• Knowledge of SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn rate, and deferred revenue (preferred).

• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation across the US, UK, EU, and India (preferred).

• Background in accounts payable and financial modeling (preferred).
