This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of weekly financial data management for a portfolio of client companies, ensuring that performance metrics, margins, and KPIs are precise, up-to-date, and ready for decision-making.
• Collaborate with accounting and controllership teams to verify reconciliations, month-end results, and the integrity of reporting from source data to executive-level reporting.
• Develop and oversee KPI dashboards, executive reporting packages, board materials, and investor-ready financial analyses.
• Direct annual budgets, rolling forecasts, variance analyses, and ongoing financial planning cycles across various client projects.
• Create and sustain dynamic financial models for one, three, and five years, encompassing three-statement models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity tables.
• Evaluate unit economics, pricing structures, channel mix, inventory management, vendor terms, COGS, and margin drivers to pinpoint areas of performance enhancement or deterioration.
• Act as the main analytical partner to Client CFOs, delivering the insights they require for board meetings, investor calls, lender updates, and strategic planning sessions.
• Facilitate discussions with founders and functional leaders in marketing, supply chain, operations, and finance as trust is established.
• Assist in fundraising, M&A, credit, and diligence activities by preparing investor materials, data rooms, cash runway analyses, and capital allocation scenarios.
• Convert complex financial data into straightforward, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
• **Must-Have:**
• 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial operations, corporate finance, controllership, or a closely related finance role.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing planning cycles, recurring reporting, financial analyses, and executive-ready deliverables from start to finish.
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including multi-year three-statement models, scenario analyses, sensitivity tables, and cash runway planning.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including accrual vs. cash accounting, revenue recognition, COGS treatment, reconciliations, and inventory accounting.
• Familiarity with consumer business models such as DTC, retail, omnichannel, wholesale, CPG, beauty, or similar product-focused businesses.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with CFOs, founders, investors, and senior operational leaders.
• Capability to manage multiple client engagements independently while ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and sound judgment.
• **Nice to Have:**
• Previous experience in a multi-client, fractional finance, consulting, private equity operations, portfolio support, or multi-entity environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or comparable accounting platforms.
• Proficiency in BI, dashboarding, or reporting tools.
• Exposure to fundraising, M&A, lender reporting, investor materials, or diligence processes.
• Familiarity with LLMs such as ChatGPT or Claude, or automation tools to enhance finance workflows.
