Finance Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Provide precise financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business analysis for various business entities.

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated reports.

• Conduct account reconciliations, accruals, and analyze general ledger entries.

• Create financial reporting packages featuring variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.

• Evaluate financial performance and offer recommendations to management.

• Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.

• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for business initiatives and strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with operational leaders and cross-functional teams to provide valuable financial insights.

• Assist with corporate income tax returns, external audits, accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance efforts.

• Identify process enhancements and engage in finance transformation and system improvement projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Accounting designation (CMA, CGA, or CA), or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

• At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis and accounting.

• Experience with diverse lines of business and intricate ownership structures.

• Proficiency in preparing and filing Canadian corporate income tax returns, including T2 returns, SRED, supporting schedules, tax reconciliations, and related compliance documents.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Expensify, and Payworks is advantageous.

• Previous experience in M&A and international expansion is a plus.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex templates and formulas.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
