Finance & Accounting Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Prepare and evaluate accounting records, financial statements, and various financial reports monthly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting and procedural standards.

• Supervise general accounting operations, inter-company transactions, and financial reporting across all entities.

• Ensure timely and accurate submissions of GST, VAT, WHT, and corporate tax returns.

• Manage statutory audits in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS regulations.

• Responsible for internal audits, controls, process enhancements, and AI transformation initiatives.

• Collaborate with outsourced accounting and finance partners across different jurisdictions.

• Oversee payment processing, financial controls, and vendor management.

• Support investor reporting, group consolidation, management analysis, and respond to ad-hoc financial inquiries from leadership.

• Administer accounting systems and document finance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A qualified Chartered Accountant with a solid understanding of accounting standards and taxation in Southeast Asia.

• 10 to 15 years of professional experience, preferably in technology companies, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.

• Experience in a start-up environment is preferred.

• Background with a Big 4 firm in their Assurance and Accounting Advisory practice is advantageous.

• Must possess working knowledge of international accounting standards such as IFRS and group consolidation (Singapore).

• Capable of coordinating and communicating effectively with diverse team members across various locations.

• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.

• Proficient in managing external service providers, coordinating among multiple stakeholders and time zones, while delivering precise work under tight deadlines.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently in remote settings.
