This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Overseeing first-line quality assurance within the Wealth Planning service advice delivery framework. This primarily involves conducting first-line file reviews as stipulated in the Wealth Planning operational risk framework, performing Trust Registration Service checks, evaluating files against the firm's advice standards, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that documentation is complete and accurately recorded in internal systems.
• As necessary, conducting thematic reviews of suitability while maintaining a record of review results, escalating significant issues, trends, or risks to the Director of Business Quality Assurance.
• Developing a risk-based approach for file selection across various types of advice, planner experience levels, expertise, and internal licensing requirements.
• Documenting review outcomes, risk ratings, and remediation actions, tracking responses and their completion times, and maintaining thorough audit trails and management information to support oversight of advice quality. Contributing to regular reporting on advice standards and quality.
• Aiding in the maintenance and updating of the file review checklist, suitability standards, and internal guidance.
• Responsible for keeping the Financial Planning Guide to Suitability updated and accurate.
• The candidate must possess at least a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or an equivalent qualification.
• It is expected that the candidate will engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to remain competent in relevant regulatory and technical standards.
• A strong understanding of the UK retail investment advice process is essential.
• Good knowledge of regulatory expectations concerning the suitability of advice is required.
• The ability to interpret and apply internal advice standards, compliance policies, and quality assurance frameworks is necessary.
• Capability to identify inconsistencies, risks, or gaps within the advice process.
• Proficiency in providing constructive feedback to clarify key points identified in a clear and practical manner.
• Confidence to escalate concerns when advice may not comply with regulatory or internal standards.
