This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver technical assistance for FAA-supported programs and systems, such as FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others.
• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment at customer remote sites.
• Provide scheduled and on-call field support at customer locations within the designated area.
• Travel outside the assigned area or region as necessary to meet FAA customer requirements.
• Read, interpret, and adhere to equipment drawings and task orders.
• Document the work performed and events occurring at customer locations.
• Collaborate with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to troubleshoot field issues.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, parts, electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicles.
• Prepare for assigned tasks prior to dispatch.
• Adhere to L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures in conjunction with the supervisor.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls and operational requirements.
• Highly developed knowledge and skills relevant to the job.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/Associate’s Degree and 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and a DOD Secret Clearance.
• Capability to acquire and retain an active FAA Security Clearance.
• Valid Driver’s License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent with a satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time to remote sites within a 3-hour driving radius of the base location.
• Willingness to travel outside the assigned region as required.
• Ability to work from home in an on-call capacity.
• Ability to work outside regular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
• Capability to lift items weighing up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 feet.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow equipment drawings and task orders.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to perform in a high-stress and high-visibility environment.
• Good working knowledge of cable connectors including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449.
• Excellent familiarity with fiber optics.
• Working knowledge of multiplexes, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, private line, voice, and data applications.
• Proficiency in AC and DC power testing, including 3-phase AC systems.
• Familiarity with 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies.
• Experience with T1, DS3, digital BERT, and analog VG network and circuit testing within Bell Core standards.
• Competency in using network test equipment such as JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, and Para-scope.
• Knowledge and experience with IP-based configurations of routers and switches.
• Experience in installing equipment racks.
• Preferred certifications/skills: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, and A+.
