This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Deliver technical assistance for FAA programs and systems such as FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, and WMSS.
• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment at customer remote sites.
• Operate remotely in both scheduled and on-call roles at customer locations within the designated area.
• Occasionally travel to remote sites outside the assigned area to meet FAA customer requirements.
• Read, interpret, and adhere to equipment drawings and task orders.
• Document work performed at customer locations and take detailed notes.
• Collaborate with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to address field issues effectively.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and either personal or company vehicle.
• Prepare for assigned tasks prior to dispatch to ensure efficiency.
• Be available to work outside of regularly scheduled hours as necessary to fulfill customer demands.
• Lift items weighing up to 32 pounds and utilize ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 feet.
• Coordinate with the supervisor/ASL to ensure compliance with L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a minimum of 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree coupled with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and a DOD Secret Clearance.
• Must possess and retain a valid Driver’s License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent with a satisfactory driving record.
• Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+ certification is preferred.
• Capability to work from home in an on-call status.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active FAA Security Clearance.
• Strong ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time to remote sites within a 3-hour driving radius and beyond as required.
• Ability to use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 feet.
• Willingness and/or capability to work outside of regular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Capacity to function in a high-stress and high-visibility environment.
• Sound working knowledge of cable connectors including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449.
• Strong understanding of fiber optics.
• Familiarity with Multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, Private Line, and voice/data applications.
• Good working knowledge of AC/DC power testing, including 3-phase AC systems.
• Understanding of 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies.
• Experience with T1, DS3, BERT, and Analog VG network/circuit testing in accordance with Bell Core Standards.
• Proficient in using network test equipment such as JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope, or other T1/DS3 test sets.
• Knowledge and experience in IP-based configurations for routers and switches.
