This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Engage in thorough technical exploration within designated strategic accounts to evaluate platform readiness, assess limitations, and pinpoint high-value adoption opportunities across GitLab and the GitLab Duo Agent Platform.
β’ Spearhead architecture and delivery design for intricate enterprise environments where platform migration, regulatory requirements, and product boundaries converge.
β’ Collaborate with customer stakeholders and GitLab account teams to rank use cases based on business significance, technical viability, repeatability, and long-term platform benefits.
β’ Create and develop bounded proofs, prototypes, deployment models, and reusable accelerators across source code management, CI/CD, security, compliance, and AI-enabled workflows.
β’ Design self-managed and enterprise deployments, covering runners, access controls, network boundaries, observability, AI Gateway, model connectivity, and governance controls.
β’ Transform recurring field patterns into reusable resources such as runbooks, templates, design notes, technical documentation, product briefs, and reference architectures applicable across multiple accounts.
β’ Contribute code, technical designs, or architectural modifications when strategically important, in collaboration with product and engineering teams, to address upstream blockers.
β’ Travel as required for strategic customer interactions, architecture workshops, and team coordination, with anticipated travel up to 50%.
β’ Proven experience in software engineering, platform architecture, forward-deployed engineering, technical consulting, or comparable customer-facing engineering positions.
β’ Strong foundation in software engineering, encompassing the ability to read, analyze, and contribute to production systems, preferably with experience in Ruby on Rails and/or Go.
β’ Excellent systems design and software architecture abilities, with experience in assessing APIs, asynchronous workflows, CI/CD systems, security boundaries, scalability, and operational trade-offs.
β’ Practical experience with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline design, YAML, runners, and GitLab APIs.
β’ Familiarity with infrastructure as code and enterprise deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or similar methodologies.
β’ Working knowledge of large language models, agentic patterns, tool orchestration, and the practical limitations of AI systems in production settings.
β’ A history of creating reusable technical assets that endure beyond a single engagement, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills for providing technical design and architecture direction.
β’ Confidence in leading discussions with senior stakeholders across security, compliance, engineering, platform, and business teams, particularly in complex enterprise environments.
