This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Manage multiple potential interventions concurrently and delegate them effectively.
• Collaborate closely with our cohort of Founders.
• Concentrate on a combination of AI infrastructure security (particularly these six issues) and epistemic security; candidates with relevant experience will be prioritized.
• Proficiency in navigating and/or modifying intricate systems (whether natural or human-made).
• Generalist: capable of quickly grasping nuances across a variety of topics, including ML architecture, export control regulations, and ideological differences within the AI community.
• Significant experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Cybersecurity - Technical: Software security, vulnerability assessment (or related fields).
• Cybersecurity - Strategic: Cybersecurity strategy, Red Team operations, or threat intelligence (or similar).
• Epistemic Security - Technical: Media forensics, deepfake detection, or content provenance (or related disciplines).
• Epistemic Security - Strategic: Analysis of information operations or counter-influence strategy (e.g., intelligence community, think tank, or allied government).
• Cross-cutting: Strategic technological or product planning.
• Strong capability to interview experts and synthesize insights across various domains.
• Comfort in forming and revising hypotheses swiftly.
• Strong creative problem-solving skills, with a passion for identifying Pareto improvements to conventional options.
• Ability to reason about AI trajectories, safety, and future-state technologies.
• Practice of reviewing the state-of-the-art after generating ideas, accompanied by a desire to prototype, test, and iterate.
• A founder mentality, characterized by a high degree of ownership over outcomes (rather than processes) and the ability to drive progress independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience in coordinating and aligning stakeholders towards a common objective.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Comfort with uncertainty and an eagerness to shape our culture, as we remain a very small organization.
• Authorization to work in the US (and ideally eligible to obtain a US security clearance).
