Field Service Technician I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Travel weekly to deliver company products, fill customer silos, and provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, and training support for all LB Foster friction management lubricators.

• Significant travel to work sites across North America is mandatory on a weekly basis.

• Collaborate with external customers and internal departments for product development and relationship-building efforts.

• Capability to work outdoors on railway tracks in various weather conditions.

• Responsible for managing personal travel expense accounts, individual or company-provided mechanical tools, and company-issued credit cards where applicable.

• Address basic issues and challenges, and escalate more complex matters to senior staff.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• 0-2 years of experience in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical fields is preferred.

• Experience with boom cranes is a plus.

• A valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract are required.

• E-Railsafe certification must be obtained upon hire, along with any additional customer-specific training required for site access.

• Proficient in using basic hand and power tools.

• Experience with hydraulic and transfer pumps is an added advantage.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective time management abilities.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.) is a plus.

• A high level of reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential attributes for this role.

• Competent writing skills for report submissions.

• Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to adhere to all relevant safety and operational regulations for client railways in a professional and responsible manner.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as required.
