This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Perform precise mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations in various geographical areas under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Collaborate closely with seasoned Field Service Technicians to gain knowledge in transformer maintenance, service protocols, and troubleshooting methods.
• Leverage technical, mechanical, or military skills in practical field service scenarios.
• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to aid preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Support the servicing and repair of transformer systems by following established procedures and utilizing appropriate tools.
• Develop the ability to interpret technical data and apply insights to address critical customer issues.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling apparatus with necessary training and supervision.
• Keep precise processing records and assist in transformer testing activities.
• Employ digital tools and software for documentation and site reporting purposes.
• Work in conjunction with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and clients to enhance maintenance strategies.
• Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal protocols.
• High School Diploma/GED along with 2+ years of relevant professional experience in technical or mechanical domains.
• Relevant military training or experience is highly regarded and encouraged.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and availability to travel up to 85% across the nation.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and engage in strenuous tasks for extended durations.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for up to 12 hours daily.
• Class A CDL is preferred for driving specialized service vehicles.
• Welding certification or experience is favored to enhance field capabilities.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
