This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.
• Perform precise mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations across various geographical areas under the supervision of experienced technicians.
• Collaborate closely with skilled Field Service Technicians to gain knowledge in transformer maintenance, service procedures, and troubleshooting methods.
• Utilize technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills in practical field service applications.
• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to facilitate preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Aid in the servicing and repair of transformer systems following established processes and tools.
• Develop the ability to analyze technical data and apply insights to resolve critical customer issues.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling equipment with appropriate training and supervision.
• Keep precise processing logs and assist in transformer testing activities.
• Leverage digital tools and software platforms for documentation and site reporting.
• Work in partnership with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and customers to support maintenance strategies.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal protocols.
• High School Diploma/GED along with 2+ years of professional experience in technical or mechanical fields. Relevant military training or experience is considered equivalent and is highly encouraged.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the willingness to travel up to 85% nationwide.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and performing strenuous tasks for extended durations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions for up to 12 hours each day.
• Class A CDL is preferred for operating specialized service vehicles.
• Welding certification or experience is preferred to enhance field capabilities.
• Candidates must already possess work authorization that allows them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
