This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Serve as a representative of Oxford Instruments by providing exceptional technical support, installation, and maintenance for plasma etch and deposition systems.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of state-of-the-art plasma etch and deposition systems.
• Perform both scheduled and emergency maintenance with accuracy.
• Foster trust and cultivate long-term relationships through effective communication and practical training.
• Address intricate hardware and software challenges using specialized tools.
• Calibrate essential components and apply performance-enhancing upgrades to guarantee optimal system reliability and throughput.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of field service experience within the semiconductor sector, specifically focusing on plasma etch and deposition systems.
• Practical experience with vacuum technologies, including turbo pumps, cryo pumps, and roughing pumps.
• Expertise in troubleshooting 208V electrical systems and 24V control subsystems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic instruments such as vacuum leak detectors, RF power meters, digital voltmeters (DVMs), LCR meters, multimeters, and megohm meters.
• Solid understanding of RF theory and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) systems.
• Must possess physical agility and be comfortable working in confined or challenging spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
