This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Deliver installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for packaging machinery and systems.
• Act as an essential technical resource for clients and internal teams.
• Ensure that equipment functions safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out repairs, maintenance, and start-up procedures on different packaging machinery at client locations.
• Execute setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Perform electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical tests and repairs.
• Assist with systems integration alongside clients and other service personnel.
• Oversee and maintain an accurate inventory of truck supplies and company vehicles.
• Complete field service work orders, including timely billing.
• May provide guidance to less experienced team members.
• Conduct product demonstrations and training as necessary.
• Over 5 years of experience in repairs and maintenance on packaging equipment or comparable machinery.
• Required certifications from manufacturer training on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, label printers, and strapping equipment or similar products.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education is mandatory; a mechanical electrical trade school background and/or a 2-year technical degree is highly preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Competent in using a multimeter for troubleshooting applications.
• Strong knowledge of automatic machines and proficiency with semi-automatic machines.
• Comprehensive understanding of all repair tools and capability to demonstrate their correct usage.
• Solid grasp of electrical and pneumatic controls and valves.
• Strong mechanical and electrical foundation.
• Ability to troubleshoot (electrical and mechanical) issues and devise efficient solutions.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic controls and valves.
• Should possess mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and other necessary applications.
• Experience with programming software is preferred, specifically Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
• Ability to lift and manage parts weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work in industrial environments, including climbing ladders and lifts at high elevations, as well as working in low areas such as beneath equipment.
• Experience working in diverse settings, including fast-paced industrial and production environments.
• Some overnight travel is required, including long-distance driving and air travel.
