Field Service Technician, Class B

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver hands-on field service assistance for power transformers.

• Aid customers in the installation, maintenance, and restoration of essential electrical assets.

• Analyze electrical and mechanical drawings and adhere to technical manuals.

• Execute comprehensive service tasks that enhance equipment reliability and ensure safe operation.

• Conduct both on-site and remote service activities, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.

• Assist customer operations by resolving technical issues and anticipating service requirements.

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.

• Undertake internal transformer tasks such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and crafting contoured joints.

• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as instructed.

• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment under guidance.

• Organize logistics for service jobs, including tools, resources, and spare parts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate Degree with 2 years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of professional work experience.

• Extensive knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing.

• Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, and internal transformer components.

• Valid driver’s license with the capacity to travel up to 85% of the time.

• Capability to work outdoors for prolonged periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
